About the Project

Beirut’s library proposal project, is a conceptual design representing an urban landmark, connected through multi-entrances to the adjacent streets and neighborhoods. On one hand, the architectural concept represented by huge ground-breaking ascending concrete blocks, underlines the importance of culture as a tool to overcome ignorance and darkness. On the other hand, the building’s main part being underground, contributes in energy efficiency and sustainability. The main halls would be lit indirectly by natural light through the zenithal roof voids.
